Hot Girl Summer Jumper
sold out
Back in 2021 as part of Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back we did a story in Bridgend in Wales about British wool. I met Jacob, a fifth generation sheep farmer, and heard how the wool on his farm is no longer profitable but in the 50s and 60s the rent on Jacob’s farm was paid for by the sale of wool. But now folks choose cheaper, synthetic alternatives and even when choosing wool aren’t always getting it locally.
But wool is amazing! It’s sustainable, breathable, hard-wearing, has a longer life cycle than synthetics
and is biodegradable yet it only represents around 1% of global fibre supply.
So I’ve been very pleased to work with British Wool and Corah Textiles in Nottingham over the last few months to produce this very special ‘Hot Girl Summer’ jumper. It’s certified 100% British wool and comes with
the Shepherds Crook Mark logo as proof of its quality and origin, made with a lovely soft wool by Laxton's called Sheepsoft and it’s been dyed to my exact colour choices. To say I’m delighted with it is an understatement.
These are now available for pre-order til 9 AM on Tuesday 27 August and then sales will close. That means that we are only making exactly what we sell, avoiding further wasted wool, and we’ll get your jumper made just for you and delivered in approx 12 weeks. Most of the profits on the sale of this will go towards helping fund an emerging Birmingham director make a short film. If they sell really well I might treat myself to a massage and a bottle of something.
