Hunt For The Mona Lisa Scott-Lee - Terms And Conditions
- Competition to accompany the launch of Joe’s book Art Hole: The online-only treasure hunt launching on 20 September 2024 on Instagram @joelycett to compete for the chance to win a special edition copy of Joe’s book Art Hole and £500 ("Prize"). The Prize will be to be awarded to one contestant who provides the correct information that leads to the retrieval of Joe’s favorite painting "The Mona Lisa Scott-Lee" before its scheduled tour at the National Portrait Gallery (NPG) on 26th September 2024.
- Clue posts: On 20 September the entrants will be able to watch a launch trailer on Joe Lycett’s Instragram page and an accompanying grid post explaining how the competition will run. Included on these posts will be suggestions about how to look for clues as to the person who has stolen the Mona Lisa Scott-Lee and her current whereabouts. The entrants will be invited to submit their theories through an online form. This is an online-only treasure hunt and we are not encouraging or endorsing any physical search for the clues in the real world. Participants are instructed to follow the game and clues solely through digital platforms.
- Clue solutions will be revealed on Instagram Live on Joe’s account on Thursday 26th September between 12pm and 1pm and the Winner will be selected according to the competition rules set out at here, which may be established and amended by us in our sole discretion at any time. The selection of the Winner shall be final and binding and is not subject to any challenge or appeal.
CONTEST RULES:
You are advised to carefully read all the rules set out below (we reserve the right to adapt and add rules as the competition progresses):
- Eligibility Requirements: To enter the contest you must be based in the UK and over 18 and available and happy to join an Instagram Live on Joe’s account on Thursday 26th September between 12and 1pm to watch the final play out and participate if pulled out from the pool of entrants who correctly guessed 1) who stole the painting and 2) the location of the painting. By entering the competition, you confirm and agree that you comply with all of the Eligibility Requirements and you agree to provide (or assist us in obtaining) further information, documentation, references and/or evidence as requested by us for the purpose of verifying you comply with the Eligibility Requirement.
- The entrant must be entering on their own behalf.
- Prize is £500 and a special edition copy of Joe’s book Art Hole.
- Entrants must regularly check Joe Lycett’s Instagram feed for clues, hints and tips about where online to look for further clues. The deadline for submitting your guesses is 23:59 on 25 September 2024. After that you will not be able to make any submissions.
- If a clue is interrupted or interfered with for any reason, we will determine whether to continue with that clue or to revise, reschedule, or cancel such clue, or to re-do the clue from the beginning, from the point of interference or interruption, or from any other point of the clue. All decisions regarding how clues are carried out and resolved, and the interpretation and implementation of all rules, are made by us in our sole discretion and are not subject to appeal or review.
- You will be invited to submit your guesses through an online form on joelycett.com only. We will take your latest submission in connection with 1) who stole the painting and 2) the location of the painting as your final answer.
- On the morning of 26 September 2026, five entrants will be selected at random from the entrants who have correctly guessed 1) who stole the painting and 2) the location of the painting. Note that the answers to the questions ‘who stole the painting’ and ‘where is the painting located’ are answers pertaining to the fictional story of the theft of the Mona Lisa Scott Lee and may not correspond with real life people or locations.
- An attempt will be made to contact potential winners in the order they are randomly selected. Contact attempts will be made via the email address and Instagram account submitted on the form. Entrant should ensure they are checking the relevant email account on morning of Thursday 26th September 2024 and have DM notifications turned on for Instagram. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within 30 minutes then the next potential winner from the randomised list will be contacted. The potential winner will be asked to speak to Joe on Instagram Live between 12 and 1pm on 26th September and give Joe the solutions and guide him to retrieve the painting. Once Joe retrieves the painting, that entrant will be announced on Instagram Live as a winner (Winner).
- The award of the Prize is contingent upon the Winner satisfying the Eligibility Requirements.
- To be eligible for this competition you must NOT:
- work with Joe Lycett or his associated companies and organisations
- work for the organisations who have partnered with Joe Lycett on this project
- be a friend or family member of the above.
- The Prize will be delivered to the Winner within 30 days following the announcement of the Winner provided that the Winner has supplied us with correct contact details. We advise that you ensure that you have provided us with correct contact details and if you don’t hear from us check your spam folder.
- Unless otherwise specified you grant to us all necessary rights and consents to permit us to make the fullest use of any information, photographic/video material submitted by you as part of your participation in the competition (collectively referred to as the “Material(s)”) for any purposes connected with the promotion of Joe’s book Art Hole in any and all media now known or hereafter invented throughout the world in perpetuity. You agree that we have no obligation to use any Material(s) to you.
- We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. You confirm that:
- You do not have any cautions or convictions for offences involving children or vulnerable adults;
- You are not under investigation nor have you been under investigation by the police or social services for any offences involving children or vulnerable adults; and
- You have never been subject to any disciplinary action or sanction relating to children or vulnerable adults.
- By necessity we will process your personal data that you provide or have given access to related to/contained in your participation in the competition, including that contained in your and, if applicable, to process the Prize. You acknowledge that we may need to share your personal data with affiliate and/or group companies and professional advisors.
